Date

24th & 25th April, 2019

Location

Scottish Event Campus (SEC), Glasgow, Scotland.

Description

CYBERUK is the UK government’s flagship cyber security event. Hosted by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), it features world-class speakers, solutions and opportunities for interaction between the public and private sectors. It covers briefings on the evolving cyber threat and how we must respond as individuals and as a community to keep Britain safe in cyberspace.

For the first time, Amiosec hosted a stand at the event, supporting NCSC with a live demos and showcasing its advanced mobile and secure remote access capabilities.

One of the highlights of the show was the chance for us to participate in an Educational Schools Event which took place on day one. This event was focused on engaging with young people in Scotland, inspiring them to consider a career in Cyber Security and serving as a great source of information for them. There were approximately fifty 12-14 year olds in attendance, and Amiosec was one of only a handful of companies fortunate enough to be involved in engaging with the students and attempting to pique their interest in Cyber Security ahead of their important subject choices. One of our software engineers presented a flash talk on the Spotlight Stage – “A Brief History of Cryptography” – and also hosted some Cyber Games for the students, getting them to crack secret messages using Caesar and Vigenère ciphers! It was a great success and Amiosec was pleased to be able to get a chance to inspire the engineers of the future.

Overall, the event was a resounding success, with overwhelming interest and visits to the stand from senior delegates on both days.
