At Amiosec, we have a strong focus on customer engagement – this not only helps us to gain a deep understanding of the problems that they want us to solve, but also allows us to build meaningful relationships whilst delivering capabilities that are a good fit for our customers needs. As an Engineer, this approach is really appealing to me as I gain great personal satisfaction from building positive working relationships and delivering to satisfied customers.

My background is Software Development and Systems Engineering so I split my time between working on innovative R&D projects, product development and building a flexible but structured technical development lifecycle and working practices that suit our needs across the range of work that we do. We want our products to be robust, reliable and delight users, so this means we select the best tools and use best practice approaches in development.

We are building a team of highly skilled engineers who are positive and enthusiastic about technology, love technical challenges and who enjoy working together to produce solutions which really push the boundaries in our chosen fields. Business Support Assistant

Joining Amiosec in early 2017, my role as Business Support Assistant is to support the Company Directors and a Team of Engineers. My working week is spent collaborating closely with the team, speaking to suppliers and planning all matters of hospitality, making sure every detail is taken care of. With an average day ranging from diary and quality management to preparing for guest visits, my days in the office are well and truly varied. I also take responsibility for the more social side of work life, organising team social events. This is an important role that allows our staff to get to know each other better, enjoy themselves more and ultimately build greater commitment to the Company.

The Amiosec Team is a friendly, laid back group. The Directors really look after the staff and it is clear that we are all part of something exciting!

Cyber Security Engineer

Amiosec is not a typical research and development or security engineering company. Most importantly the company’s customers and employees are what shapes the business. Everyone in the team has an important role to play by challenging themselves and exceeding customer expectations.

I joined Amiosec in 2015 with a network engineering and IT security background and since that time I have worked closely with several customers on research projects, taken responsibility for ensuring legislative compliance in security and quality and developed and continuously improved our business technology systems to support our growing engineering team. These are examples of how we as employees are all involved in shaping the company, its ethos and direction. Every day at Amiosec is different and brings new and exciting challenges but at the end of the day you will feel immensely proud of what you have achieved!

Everyone is encouraged to step out of their comfort zone, expand their sphere of knowledge and challenge themselves and most importantly to get involved.

Software Engineer

After recently finishing a graduate scheme at a large engineering firm, I decided to join Amiosec as a Software Engineer as they offered the opportunity to challenge myself and learn innovative new technologies. The work at Amiosec offers multiple different research projects covering a vast number of topics related to the Cyber Security domain. Despite the fact I have never worked in Cyber Security before, the team at Amiosec have created a full development plan to get me the training and skills that I need, as well as helping me to build on my other experience. Amiosec invests in its people and pushes them to develop themselves, which is one of the reasons I came to work here.

My daily work at Amiosec is technically challenging but I am encouraged to take time to fully understand the different core concepts of the project that I am on whilst also being pushed to work beyond my comfort zone. I am involved in code development, research papers and creating demos for customers. While I am still early in my career, my opinions are valued and the team have welcomed my fresh ideas. As a strong advocate for more women in STEM careers, it has been refreshing to see that Amiosec supports this view with a diverse team.
